Carpets & Where They Are Used

Carpet is typically laid on underlay and grippers, which comes in different qualities according to budget, application and preference. If your budget is tight then a felt back with a ‘built in underlay’ carpet can be fitted to all flat areas. Stairs are always close covered with underlay and gripper unless you specify a centre runner as described below. Once your carpet is installed it can be vacuumed straight away (if you do not want to put your feet up with a cup of tea) unless it is a 100% wool velvet pile. As with all flooring the sub floor may need preparation; please contact us or refer to flooring services.

Carpet Guarantees

Most of the Polypropylene (man made) carpets we supply have a 5 year stain guarantee and 5 year wear guarantee. In addition to that some manufactures give their 80% wool 20% nylon twist pile carpets a 10 year wear guarantee.

Carpets On Stairs

Growing more and more popular is a centre runner stair carpet, which can be done with any carpet of your choice. Then the edge of the carpet is bound or taped to match the carpet.
